Resize gripper thingy on every X window

Would it be possible to reduce the resize gripper thingy on
the lower right hand corner of the window to just the triangle
part? On some X apps, it intrudes into the window. Since
it's always white, it looks kind of tacky.
Also, if the server could check the window's background_pixel
or background_pixmap value, it could make the gripper the
correct color for the rest of the window.
