Hi All
I had the same problem with the delete key in emacs.
I found the bast way around this problem was to hold down the control
key, and click the Mouse.
A menu appears, and you can select:
Backarrow Key (BS/Del)
When this is not checked in the menu the delete key behaves as normal.
Try this!!
