Hello again,
I wrote yesterday a help request for how to use "Slovenian or Croatian"
keyboards in X11... But I think this is not just about these two keyboard
layouts, it is about all others except the omnipresent English keyboard. The
problem is that this issue isnt just an open source software problem with
"quickly over the night programmed" software, where the programmers are
underpaid or not paid at all. This issue isn't solved even in the full
"native" (or whatever the name is for it...) OS X program. I've already said
with this too much I guess, but I know what I'm saying. Adding to OS X a
Unicode keyboard support for my and other rare "small" languages doesn't
solve the problem when most of the available useful software in OS X doesn't
support yet Unicode keyboard mapping. Funny enough, Linux software does that
all - it has all possible language supports, Unicode though, but then
there's OpenOffice.org which works in Linux with Unicode for any language
(well, I suppose for any language, yet suppose there are maybe some
languages left out because being too small, I don't know...). So why don't I
just back off and use solely Linux? I never said OS X is not good, how could
I say something like that for such a fine operating system. Well the answer
is this: ever tried writing English with Arabic, Cyrillic or Hebrew letters,
or even worse - with Chinese characters, hehe?!?
I hope this will help to motivate all you skilled computer and Unix guys to
give some help here, because I'm sure (although I'm no programmer) this can
be solved, only if the fantastic (and already in Linux proven) potentials of
this software are willingfully put together to serve this one more essential
part of interhuman communication: uncircumventable, diverse, beautiful,
reminding linguistic diversity! (Reminding? Yes, it is reminding us of the
fantastic superhuman intervention in humanity's inbuilt biological
linguistic software during the events related to the building of the Tower
of Babel! Reminding us that we are not alone, reminding us that we depend on
each other [there is more than just one subject and object in these
statements], reminding us of the dangers of unity for the sake of selfish
motifs...)
Muchas gracias, vielen Dank, merci, hvala svima koji se trude, thanks to all
you who have created these very interesting programs and operating
systems!!!
