What is "/sw"?

it's the directory where all Fink-installed Darwin/X11 software (except X11R6) is installed.

Cheers, David Orlovich.

I've got X11 nicely running and I am using ghostview (gv) from fink
to view postscript files.

No problem if I start an xterm terminal and write the command "gv".
No problem either when I start from terminal.app and give the command
"gv".

However, I have a problem if I add the command "/sw/bin/gv" to
the "Applications menu" in X11:
ghostview's window nicely appears but it isn't able to
       open a postscript file !!!
Also if I add in the Application menu the line "xterm -e /sw/bin/gv"
gv starts up from an xterm but I get the same problem.

I got the impression that gv can find the (name of) the argument file
correctly (gv counts the right number of pages in the .ps document),
but it doesn't pass the filename correctly to gs which does the
Postscript
interpreting. GhostScript gives in it's "Ghostscript Messages" window
the message "Exec of gs failed: no such file or directory".

I would be happy if I could get gv started from the Applications menu.

A.
