Copy and Paste in X11-Beta??

Hello,
I am new in X11 on Jaguar and have some problem. Starting the xterm in X11 public beta works, also starting the R statistic system. But, if I want to paste some snippits of text into the running R it does not work. Paste is simply enabled.
If I use the terminal app from Jaguar it work. Is something going wrong with X11 or with the installation??
