Axel,
I have also converted a Unix xview dependent program to work on the
Mac.
Go to http://www.msu.edu/~lintone/macgde/
I had looked for the xview libraries running on the Mac, while
sourceforge.net had a page up that said this was a project being worked
on there is currently no installation package for the Macintosh.
Therefore, I used the Linux distribution xview-3.2p1.4 and compiled my
program by placing all of the libraries that were required within the
same folder and making all of the paths relative.
This got the program compiled and running, I had to place a few
libraries in the /usr/X11R6/lib/, I figured these out by running the
program and looking at the xterm window which displayed what it could
not find and were it was looking.
I would really like it if someone would set the Xview libraries up as
a package distribution to put all of the parts in the correct places
with dependencies. Currently everything works except for the help files
(I have worked around this) that use the textsw widget which does not
work.
So if anyone knows of a package install of Xview, or has gotten
everything installed correctly I would appreciate knowing about this.
I hope this was helpful,
Eric
