xon and Mac OS X's firewall

Hi Folks,
I'm trying to use xon and keep the Mac OS X builtin firewall enabled. I have forwarded ports 6000-6010 through, but still, xon does not work with the firewall enabled. It does work with the firewall disabled.

The failure mode is that the xon hangs and the desired window never appears.
