I'm not sure what this is supposed to do. Rather, I see that maybe it
solves the error message, which is one problem.
The other problem remains. I find x11 highly irritating since the last
update, I think, because of this "flashing xterm" problem. Others have
had this problem too, and there seems to be no solution. Others who
have recompiled xterm have reported no luck to me.
