I am running E-Term and doing pseudo transparancy by loading my
background image in. I have had some problems with resolutions before
though, so one trick I found is; Setup your desktop the way you like,
hide anything you do not want to see in the terminal. Then take a
screenshot of your desktop. You can then load this image in to ETerm, or
like I did, I took the screenshot in to Photoshop and darkend it a
little with trans lines for better contrast. Not perfect, but it works
for me.
