Alexander-
You can reference this site:
<http://homepage.mac.com/sao1/fink/>
xTerm will read an .xinitrc file in your home directory if it exists.
If it does not exist there, you can copy the default installed file
from /private/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc to your home directory. Make sure
it has the dot prefix.
For Terminal files, look in /usr/share/tcsh/examples. Run less README.
Browse the files there and you will gain a lot.

Hi everybody,
I've just installed Apple's X11. When the app is launched it
presents me with an xterm window. I've noticed that the PATH
variable for this xterm session is different from the one of a
session in Terminal.app.
Path (echo $PATH) from Terminal.app:
/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin
Path (echo $PATH) from Xterm (after having started Apple
X11.app):
/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/Users/xyz:/usr/X11R6/bin
How (and where) can I set the PATH for X11/xterm?
(BTW, I've noticed that if X11.app is launched from the command
line instead of through the GUI the PATH is the same as that for
a Terminal.app session -- apart from /usr/X11R6/bin.)
Any ideas?
