BTW I had checked for the installation of the 11LibApple binary package as
described in the README. When I couldn't find /usr/include/Xplugin.h I
installed "X11UserForMacOSX.mpkg/Contents/X11LibApple.pkg of the X11 User
package" from Beta33 before kicking off the build. BUT I forgot to check to
see if this actually installed "Xplugin.h". Well it turns out it did _not_.
In fact, "Xplugin.h" is not in the BOM of
X11UserForMacOSX.mpkg/Contents/X11LibApple.pkg in _any_ of the three X11
beta dmgs:( FWIW there is a "./usr/X11R6/include/xp/x-plugin.h" in the BOM
of the first two betas but not v3.
This README file is lying. Not only is there no Xplugin.h in the
X11LibApple.pkg, but there is also no libXplugin.dylib which is also
required. The X11LibApple.pkg (at least the one from the X11 beta 3)
contains only one file /usr/lib/libXplugin.1.0.dylib, plus one symlink
libXplugin.1.dylib pointing to the file.
If you create the symlink
/usr/lib/libXplugin.dylib->libXplugin.1.0.dylib and cp the Xplugin.h
from the xfree86 cvs sources to /usr/include, then the compilation goes
with relatively few errors.
