They are two independent applications.
Well, yes, they would be. Normally (at least on SGI) this isn't
possible. Of course, with SGI machines, you would also need graphics
h/w for each X server too.
Perhaps this is related to their being an intermediate layer....ie
X11.app doesn't talk directly to the i/o h/w (or does it?) as it does
with SGI kit.

Yes, it can, just plug them to the USB ports. They work all as the
same, though.
Hmm. Perhaps this is something to do with it. Limitted use having two
keyboards/mouse providing the same input though....it would be nice if
they provided different input, then you could have two people use the
machine at the same time. Might provide some use in some circumstances,
I suppose. I wonder what though....
