Hi Joey,
no, unfortunately I can't help you with your question... Instead I have
a question myself:
At work I use VTK together with Tcl/Tk on both Linux and Win to
visualize 3D simulation results. Personally I think VTK is an excellent
tool! However to date I have been unable to install VTK&Tcl/Tk on my
privare Mac (eMac, MacOS X 10.2.4, Apple X11 0.2.1). Actually even the
OSX binaries/examples from http://www.atamai.com didn't work... VERY
frustrating!
So, apparently you got VTK to work under OSX... How did you manage
that? And what kind of wrapper do you use (tell me it's tcl...)? Is
there any graphical frontend for VTK available on the Mac (like
Paraview on the PC)? ...? Help!!!
Ah yes, one more remark: I'm a typical Mac user (-> not very familiar
with OSX's Unix understructure). So, please keep any advice simple
(single syllable words would be perfect ;-) ). For any tip thanks a lot
in advance!
Georg
I have a program which we develop which has a series of menus and then
the program opens an OpenGL window (we use VTK if that means anything
to you) and a couple subsidiary windows which have slide bars and text
boxes on them.
The problem is: with the Apple X11, the slide bars do not function at
all. You can not slide them left to right.
You can type into the text boxes so we know the subsidiary window is
active. Also, this works with Oroborus and XDarwin and every other
X-server we've tried. I don't know of another program which exhibits
this problem, but was wondering if anyone else had seen something
similar or might know what could cause this. I would report a bug with
the Bug Reporter, but I'm not real sure what the problem is. All our
menus work, just when the subsidiary window pops up with a slide bar
does it fail to function.
Thanks,
Joey
