printing from Abiword

Dear Sirs/Mams
I have the latest drivers installed for my hp deskjet. I have no problem
printing from osx. Sometimes I can print from the classic environment.
After installing the x window, I installed Abiword and I tried printing
without any success. I read all the archives concerning printing, but I am
not really sure where to start and I am a little afraid of messing up what
printing I can now do. Are there any suggestions?
