Hi
I just got a powerbook - yesterday - installed the fink, fink
commander, and the X11.app. Two questions:
1.) Can I download X apps from fink and run it using X11.app from
apple...,
2.) How essential is it that I download system-xfree86 from apple -
when I try to download from the binaries - I get the following error:
dpkg: serious warning: files list file for package `system-xfree86'
missing, assuming package has no files currently installed.
3491 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace system-xfree86 4.2-5 (using
.../system-xfree86_4.2-5_darwin-powerpc.deb) ...
- found apple library
- found X plugin includes
- found /usr/X11R6/bin/xterm
- found /usr/X11R6/bin/xrdb
- found /usr/X11R6/bin/rman
- missing /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.dylib
- missing /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.dylib
- missing /usr/X11R6/lib/libXaw.dylib
- missing /usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xlib.h
does anyone know how to rectify this error - i.e. should I just
download these libraries from fink.., I am concerned that they will not
be put in the /usr/X11R6 folder but somewhere in /sw
thanks alot
