So you know that you're not an aberration, I have seen this
periodically in the past. Once it didn't go away until I rebooted.
No, I don't know what caused it. No, you're not going crazy. No, I
don't think it's a serious issue, and I assume that either you or I
was/is missing something simple that we'll slap our foreheads for in
the future while uttering: "D'OH!"

Hi. I've tried 2 solutions unsuccessfully for the xterm flicker problem
First, on a whim, I tried running macjanitor. it runs /etc/daily,
weekly, and monthly.
No dice.
Next, I tried reinstalling x11 beta3
again, no dice. I am loath to reboot. Kinda defeats the purpose of OS
X, don't it?
I am unable to locate any zombie processes. It is worth noting,
however, that after running macjanitor
a) x11 launched properly immediately afterwards and the xterm stayed
up.
b) I was able to launch another xterm from this first xterm once.
after that, it reverted to flicker behaviour.
Again, other (remote) xterms don't seem to be affected. it seems to be
a problem with apple's most recent build of xterm.
I hope apple is getting this. :)

Markian
