Not sure what you mean with "no time-outs on these CPUs" ... are there
any firewalls or stuff in the connection that could time-out the TCP
connection if there's nothing going on? Any correlation between activity on
the link and the connection staying up? Try running "top", or something that
creates regular updates and see whether it dies too...
