I've had mixed luck with that too.
Try selecting in the X11 window, go to the Edit menu in the menu bar
and click "copy", click in your OSX app and type cmd-v. This works for
me.
I'd like to get guidance from others too on why the cmd-c in X11 does
not do the same thing as selecting from the menubar though...
I don't have a user .Xmodmap btw.

This is really frustrating. I've done a new install of panther and
Apple X11. I can copy and paste from OS X to X11 with no problem at
all.
However I can't get it to work from X11 back to OS X, and this is what
I need desperately. I can copy and paste within an X11 window, and b/n
X11 windows, but how do I get the text back into an OS X application?
I've tried cmd-v, turning on and off three button mouse emulation,
enable keys equiv under X11. What do I need to do?
Any help appreciated.
thanks, Bob
