how do you uninstall X11

Unless MATLAB is an exception (and you can search the archives of
this list to see), it should run with X11. Have you tried it?
And for that matter X11 and XDarwin can co-exist on the same machine;
I have them both and just have to switch .xinitrc files to go from one
to the other. (But I haven't used XDarwin now in several months).
