Hi, thank you and sorry for taking so long to follow up on this...
My DISPLAY variable says 'localhost'. What should it say?
...
PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/Library/Ant/bin
DISPLAY=localhost
SSH_ASKPASS=/Applications/SSHPassKey.app/Contents/MacOS/SSHPassKey
CVS_RSH=ssh
__CF_USER_TEXT_ENCODING=0x1F4:0:0
TERM=vt100
...
I don't know if SSHPassKey.app is the problem, but I don't use it
anymore. Where could the SSH_ASKPASS variable be defined. It is not in
~/.cshrc

Are you using one of those old Carbonized ssh-agent utilities to hold
your ssh keys? I seem to recall that that had the nasty habit of
setting your DISPLAY to localhost; it used to bite me, too, until I
switched to the much nicer SSHKeychain by Bart Matthaei.
