There is a selfcontained carbonized enhanced emacs bundle at:

Enhanced-carbon-emacs has a bunch of features preloaded so that it is
supposedly more usable from the point of view of a mac user. And you
get all the precompiled sources of the enhancements, so that you can
make your fink or apple emacs enhanced as well.
