Hi,
Hopefully I'm not way off topic for the list and forgive me if this is
a dumb question.
I've downloaded and installed x11 as it is needed for me to install
and run Matlab (actually faculty I work for need this capability on my
Mac). Both "seem" to have installed, however, every time we try to
start xDarwin or Matlab it fails. It consistently gives the error that
xDarwin failed to load and that's it - it goes no further.
I don't have any hacks on my system. Just a standard Jag 10.2.8
install and the usual litany of Adobe apps, Office, etc. Haven't
upgraded to Panther as yet (waiting to see what all is broken for
others before taking it on). I'm on a dual 1.25 with a Gig of memory.
Plenty of hard drive space left (on a 120).
Oh, and I did download and install the Matlab patch(es) for Jag from
www.mathworks.com but still no go as it fails trying to start xDarwin.
Where should I start looking for issues with xDarwin not loading
properly? Any pointers/info at all would be greatly appreciated. I'm
not sure where to start. )-:
Jennifer, I'm not sure if this will help, but there is a hint at
macosxhints.com about installing and using MATLAB on Panther. It might
be a starting point. The hint can be found at:

The original poster there may also be willing to help you out.
