One last thing. I use a version of /bin/ls than that is different from that supplied
by Apple (from sourceforgenet, which allows color file listings). Upon upgrade,
"ls" (and probably other executables) was over-written, and my preferred version
had to be re-installed.

I upgraded recenlty and haven't had installation or cut/paste problems,
and all my X11 apps work fine. Note that I use the following .xinitrc
file for seamless (so far) copy/paste between X11 and Aqua:
#!/bin/sh
/usr/local/bin/rxvt -geometry 100x30+30+30 -title rxvt-1 -bg ivory -fn times -sl 2000 &
exec /usr/X11R6/bin/quartz-wm --only-proxy &
exec /sw/bin/icewm
I run X11 in my top CodeTek Virtual Desktop window, and I use icewm virtual
desktops within this single CodeTek desktop window. No problems...not as
convenient as I'd like, but it works fine.
I had to re-modify my /etc/csh.cshrc file after the panther upgrade, as my
earlier modified version was over-written during the install. Everything
in my home directory (.xinitrc, etc...) was left intact.
I do notice that X11 launches more slowly than the beta version under Jaguar.
