On the second item :-> have you run catman (/usr/sbin/catman ) yet ??
or makewhatis (/usr/libexec/makewhatis) ?? Both rebuild the man pages
I have not yet gone to Panther but in about (LOTS) of unix installs I have
usually rerun both to make sure that the man pages are up-to-date
Hope this helps at least on the second item.
