cancelling logout loses x11 windows:-(

i tried to log out, x11 asked if i really wanted to quit all apps...i remembered i had a make running on an xterm that i didn't want to stop, so i cancelled.

but now the xterm has disappeared from the dock, and won't appear when selected from the x11 windows menu listing(where it still appears)-: i've verified that the make is still running, but i can't see the session:-(

is this a known bug?

oh, well, at least it isn't as bad as cancelling a finder move (which causes the target _and_ source to be deleted)-:
