X11 does not recognize ANY commands, it opens and manages windows and
handles keystrokes and stuff. :-)
Are you talking about xterm in X11?
What you probably want to do is something like the following in an
Xterm. In fact, you might not need X11 to even be running, maybe you
can do this from Terminal instead:
cd /Volumes/CD_NAME
sh ./install.sh
