Mike,
I am still using the X11 beta 3 on Jaguar, so I am not sure this
workaround works on the X11 v1 on Panther.
The trick that I use is to start X11 with my Powerbook at home not
connected to the office network so that it has the "hostname" set to
"my-machine.local.". I can then put it to sleep, go to work or another
location, wake it up, and then connect to a network and have X11
function normally. It seems to be important to wake up the machine
before connecting to the Ethernet.
Cheers,
++Eric

I use my Laptop at work and home, with multiple desktops
and sometimes with dozens of X11 windows open on different
desktops. X11 doesn't seem to be aware of location changes,
so when I go from work to home (and vice versa), X11 doesn't
function properly, and I have to close all X11 windows and re-start
X11.
Is there a parameter or command I can use to change my
network settings without having to restart X11?
Thanks for any advice....
Mike
