did you select "allow connections from network clients" in the X11
preferences, security pane ?

PS: if you use ssh, you can use the -X option. Once on the remote
machine, don't set a display, -X takes care of that.

I can no longer display a GUI back to my iBook from a Solaris server
at work. I get on the office network, open an xterm on my iBook and
execute xhost + <remote-host>, then telnet to the remote host, set my
DISPLAY back to my iBook, and send the GUI. Nothing happens. I've
checked the FAQ and found only the suggestion to use the ssh option,
which made no difference. I can display from the iBook to Solaris
machines, but not from them to the iBook.
This used to work. If memory serves, the break happened in December
when I down loaded the latest patches, but since I don't use X11 all
the time, I'm not certain of this.
My iBook:
OS: Mac OS X 10.2.8
X11: Beta 3 - XFree 86 4.2.1
Mem: 256 MB
Proc: 900MHz
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave
