Just a word of warning - setting DISPLAY in your "dot" files can bite you in
any number of ways, as shown above. It's almost always a bad idea.
Case in point: sshing into a box, so as to run an X11 client remotely from
it. If that box's dotfiles set DISPLAY, you will override the ssh-provided
DISPLAY, frustrating your attempts to run the client remotely.
You have been warned! :-)
