Hello!
I was recently providing a demo of OS X's X11 environment to a client.
Everything was going well, but we encountered a show stopper type
problem with a part of their environment.
They have a set of commercial applications. Some run on AIX and others
on Linux. They log in remotely to these machines and then host the
windows on their desktops (Linux and Xstations, primarily). These are
older commercial apps that are no longer being supported by the
developer. The apps running on the Linux server run flawlessly.
However, the same application running from the AIX server has problems.
When running from the AIX server and hosting the windows on OS X, the
mouse buttons get all messed up when the nested windows get more than
about 3 layers deep. It seems that MB2 and MB3 clicks all get
translated as MB1 clicks. This effectively makes the application
unusable. We tried using three button emulation and had the same
results--the functionality bound to the second and third buttons was
unavailable once the windows and menus got more than about 3 layers
deep. Again, the same app running from a Linux server worked
flawlessly.
Has anyone encountered this before? Better yet, does anyone have a
solution?
Thanks!
PG
