hello Ashish,

i have the same more or less the same problem. i was trying to use MATLAB on a Solaris machine and the graphics won't display properly or won't display at all. i think it has something to do with incompatible installations of OpenGL on OS X and Solaris. last week i was reading about it, but can't seem to find the links. if you are trying to use MATLAB here is a work around.

% matlab -nojvm (<- open MATLAB in command line mode)

and before making graphs or movies in MATLAB type

> set(gcf,'renderer','zbuffer')

hope this helps,

Andy

Hi All,
I have just joined the mailing list. I am currently running into a problem of connecting remotely to a Solaris X Server. The command which works generally with Linux X server ssh -X username@remotemachine doesn't work with Solaris. It seems to work but then when I execute an X application it comes back with an error Can't open the display. Since my machine has a private IP I couldn't see any other option other than tunneling X through SSH. Can anybody help me to figure out why the remote machine cannot open the display. I am running X server on OS X 10.3.

Thanks!

Ashish
