Hey Tucker,
The current GNU emacs source supports Carbon, IMO it's even better than
running GNU emacs under X11. You can download a prebuilt version from
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/unix_open_source/
carbonemacspackage.html
although this doesn't yet work with 10.4. You'll need to build it from
the latest CVS sources from savannah or wait for someone else to build
a binary package. Instructions on how to do this are at
