Hi,
I have environment variables set in my .xinitrc, via:
. /opt/GNUstep/System/Makefiles/GNUstep.sh
if I use exec quarts-wm, applications started from the menu do not
have the environment variables set. If I start xterm for example,
before quartz-wm, that xterm has the environment variables set, but
not other xterms started from the menu.
If I use a different window manager, e.g. windowmaker or xfce,
applications started from that window manager's menus do have access
to those environment variables, but then I have problems bringing
windows to the foreground (i.e. clicking on their title bar does not
bring them to the front), I typically then click on the X11 icon in
the dock, to bring the window to the front, which then brings all X11
windows to the front.
Do you know a solution to either of these problems? How can I have
quartz-wm export environment variables to the application menu
applications? Or, how can I have windows in xfce or windowmaker raise
when I click them rather than having to raise all X11 windows by
clicking on the icon in the dock?
