This doesn't get you the whole list, perhaps. It might only get you
what is currently set as your defaults, but I think it probably is
the whole list.

posted.
I, too, am interested in the answer to this question.
One thing is certain: it's going to depend on the application. The
answer for how to get X11's list is going to be different than how to
get BBEdit's list...
