    OK, so I've got X11 now working, talking to my Linux farm, but I can't get settings set with "defaults write com.apple.x11" to "stick".  I can create the settings, and read them back with "defaults read", but as soon as I start X11, com.apple.x11 is deleted!  Why?  How do I prevent this?
