What is in Applications/Utilites is not xterm itself but X11.app. You have to launch X11.app and then by default it opens a xterpm window. Or you choose Terminal in the Application menu of the X11 app (cmd-N).

so I attempted to install the x11 package from my tiger DVD. Then I recieved an error that a newer version is installed.


Yes, the current version is 1.1.
