My guess, and I admit it's just a guess, is that each time X11.app
starts, its server number changes. So the first time you have
<yourbox>:0, then <yourbox>:1, etc. Eventually it wraps back to what
you started with, and expect, as :0. /If/ this is the case, it should
probably be filed with apple as a bug.
Regarding ssh... if you're doing an xhosts + then there should be no
need to ssh. There are other issues with running X over a non-secure
connection, however, that you may wish to apprise yourself of.
When you start up an xterm, do an: env | grep DISPLAY
and try it for a couple of different x11.app starts. Is it returning
different data?
