I have typically used tcsh as my Mac X11 login shell since this was the default in the earlier versions of OSX. Recently, it seems that every time I reboot my computer it, X11 comes up under bash rather than tcsh. This started happening sometime around when I either did the OS 10.4.8 upgrade or the latest X11 (1.1.3) upgrade. I see no strong virtues for changing over to bash (this would require changing many of my settings) and would like to stick with tcsh. In checking Netinfo, it still has tcsh listed as my default shell. Also, in the Terminal application preferences I have set tcsh as my default. Yet, X11 still comes up under bash and the only way I can reset this is to type "chsh -s tcsh myusername", exit X11 and relaunch X11. However, this only persists until my next reboot. Does anyone know how to tell X11 to permanently use tcsh as the default login shell and not bash?
