How to use CVS with Fink Commander or build from Source code in Darwin

I need to use CVS to download, build and install minicom for MAC OS X 10.4 Intel. How do I get Fink commander to do this function, minicom is not listed in the package manager? Or how do I fetch the source code and build it in Darwin? Any pointers to a good web site that explains this would be appreciated.
