I recently upgraded from Panther to Tiger 10.4.4 (then 10.4.5 today) and a few days after the upgrade, the X11 xterm alarm sound changed (in the middle of a session) from the sound set in System Preferences to a very irritating high frequency one. I have no idea how this happened. The alarm sound in Terminal.app (which i never use) stayed the same. Any clue of what happened and how to revert to the mac os alarm sound in X11 xterm? So far I disabled the alarm sound in X11 by switching checking Visual Bell in the VT options menu. Thanks in advance for any piece of advice.
