Hi,
I would like to know which X server to install on my MacMini/MacOSX Tiger
to get accelerated XDCMP connection.
To detail a bit, I want to connect (via xdm/XDCMP) to a remote X11 server
(running NetBSD/i386), get a fullscreen environnement and get decent
results from glxgears. I tried XFree86 4.5.0 (from DarwinPorts) but don't
get the same results wether I'm using root-less or fullscreen.
# /usr/X11R6/bin/X -query 10.0.0.250 -quartz
...
Loading GLX bundle glxCGL.bundle (using Apple's OpenGL)
Display mode: Rootless Quartz -- Xplugin implementation
PseudoramiX screen 0 added: 1280x1003 @ (0,21).
PseudoramiX screen 0 placed at X11 coordinate (0,0).
[DRI] screen 0 installation complete
...
The remote "glxgears" gives ~600 FPS
# /usr/X11R6/bin/X -query 10.0.0.250 -fullscreen
...
Loading GLX bundle glxMesa.bundle (using Mesa)
Display mode: Full screen Quartz -- Direct Display
...
The remote "glxgears" give ~280 FPS
Is there a way to get full acceleration when in fullscreen mode ?
Maybe using another X server... I discovered Xming-mesa has acceleration
when cygwinX don't (in PC/Intel world).
TIA,
Jo
