Make sure that "X11" (perhaps "X11Usr.pkg", but I don't keep careful
track of the names) is installed. If installed, you will find an
application called "X11"in your /Applications/Utilities folder.
Double-click to start it. You now have an X windows server running --
serves basically the same purpose as Exceed, but probably with fewer
bells and whistles.
Shortcuts, sort of, can be defined in the "Applications" menu of X11.
Otherwise, just do normal remote logins and such from the xterm shell
provided when X11 starts up (as described by David Maas).
