"X-11 Windows Banished to the Void" problem identified

I first mentioned this problem last July of minimized X-11 windows disappearing from the dock and not being able to restore them, even though the underlying processes were still active. I was seeing it once or twice a week, but nobody else seemed to have had the same problem. Well, I finally cornered the culprit.

The cause is the Dock crashing and "silently" restarting.

When the Dock crashes, some or all of the minimized OSX windows are restored but the minimized X-11 windows are essentially "orphaned"-- they still exist, but they never again will be granted screen real estate. Non-minimized windows seem unaffected.

Since the Dock is restarted again immediately after a crash and only minimized windows are affected, it's easy to miss it. In any case, whatever was causing the Dock to crash has been happening to me much less in the past few months.
