I think this has to do with the ForwardX11Trusted variable in the
ssh_config file, and has been required by openssh for a couple of years
now. If you set ``ForwardX11Trusted yes'' in the ssh_config file, you
shouldn't need the ``-Y'' option on the ssh command.

That I don't know (but xeyes also worked when connecting to a
FreeBSD machine before I discovered how to make things work).
