I have a question for anybody who uses xterm and other X clients over
satellite.
According to Verizon, I'm a little too far out for 3MB DSL to be
reliable and am dropping back to 1.5MB to see if DSL reliability
improves. If it doesn't, I'm thinking about HughesNet, which is
satellite. There is a latency that I can live with after entering the
URL into the browser and downloads of content after that is suppose
to be super fast.
My question is, how does that impact xterm and X clients since this
information goes back to the client. How does satellite latency
affect the keystrokes that I make or is there some kind of buffering
going on that it won't be problematic.
thanks in advance.
