Well, I am able to access the app by using Cygwin in Windows XP
(under Parallels). Accessing it this way is not preferred, but it
will do, I guess. This is a vendor app, so I can't get away from
it. Seems like it's trying to make a call that X11 is not programmed
to handle, but Cygwin handles it fine.

Hi All,
I'm having a problem with X11 crashing with a certain remote
app. X11 works fine remotely with xcalc, xclock, etc. The
crashing app works fine using Cygwin in Windows XP. I believe
the app uses Java. Here are some of the log entries and so forth.
Exact behavior:
Open X11 Terminal.
ssh -Y root@srvrname
tpssm (or SMclient... they are both storage managers)
The splash screen appears for the application.
Then, the terminal window disappears and X11 crashes.
Happens every time.
I've sometimes seen this (but usually just the application crashes)
when trying to run KDE applications from Linux machines remotely.
Something about quartz which confuses the KDE application's attempt
to integrate with a KDE environment if it exists.
Apart from that, nothing makes X11 so unstable (or runs so badly)
as running java applications remotely. This is independent of
which platform the X server runs on (Linux, Mac, whatever). There
are a couple of applications which I simply run in vnc servers on
the remote machines and then connect to that.
