Recently, I've switched to using Carbon Emacs for local editing, and
copy-and-paste works splendidly. This doesn't solve copy-and-paste
problems with remote xemacs or local X apps like Wireshark, but it's
reduced my frustration level to a more tolerable level.

thought that Apple will ever fix this.)
Wow. Those three sections describe me exactly too. Hooray for Carbon
emacs! I almost never use X apps now, so it's not as much as a
problem anymore, but it sure is annoying when you encounter it.
I used to have problems, but I don't have any problems any more.
What specific thing are you trying to do that does not work?
While we're pointing out little annoyances like this, may I mention
that this is the one and only mailing list that I'm subscribed to that
pressing "reply" doesn't default to sending a reply to the mailing
list? Very annoying.
I don't know about VERY annoying :-) -- I just use "reply all." But
yes, it is a misconfiguration if you ask me.
