I have to add that I too no longer have this problem. I copy and
paste back and forth all the time. Admittedly I use mostly the xterm
and vi but even our own software, which we are running under X11, has
no problem with this.
To go X11 - Aqua I just use the normal command-C/Command-V.
To go Aqua - X11 I use Command-C/middle mouse button, which is what I
use within X11 anyway.
I've stopped thinking about this. In fact I end up using the middle
mouse button to paste in Terminal.app also.
Does this not work for everyone?

Recently, I've switched to using Carbon Emacs for local editing, and
copy-and-paste works splendidly. This doesn't solve copy-and-paste

alternative non-X-based apps like this seems to be the only real

that Apple
will ever fix this.)
Well, I guess there's small consolation in the fact that I haven't
been
doing anything wrong, but non-X-based apps completely defeats the
purpose
and meaning of having X11 at all.
What is the EXACT thing you're trying to do that does not work?
Give a description of what you do with the mouse and keyboard and
the result that surprises you.
