I cannot get the three-button mouse emulation feature (fakebuttons)
of X11 to work on my G5 Power Mac. I'm running OSX 10.4.8 and the
updated X11 (Darwin) 1.1.3.
I've had this problem in the past with earlier versions of the
operating system and X11, but was able to fix it by modifying the
com.apple.x11.plist file in my user library. This time, however, it
had no effect. I've tried several variations and multiple restarts,
but nothing seems to help. The other features in the plist file
respond to changes I make (256 colors, etc.), but not the
fakebuttons. A copy of my plist file is attached below.
Is there any way to work around this problem? For example, can I
access Xquartz directly from the terminal and use the -fakebuttons
option? What program reads the com.apple.x11.plist file?
