You must install the X11 that comes on the installation disks that
came with your MacBook Pro, located on installation disc 1 at:
/System/Installation/Packages/X11User.pkg
...or by running the "Optional Installs" package on the DVD.
If, for some reason, you do have X11 installed but the installation
is corrupted, delete the following:
/etc/X11
/usr/X11R6
/Applications/Utilities/X11.app
/Library/Receipts/X11*.pkg
...and rerun the installer from your installation disc, and then run
Software Update to ensure everything is up to date.
